Travel Nursing FAQs

Answers to some common questions

Why should I consider a career as a travel nurse?

Freedom. Earning potential. Resume building. Exciting destinations. Fulfilling assignments. Free housing. Need more reasons? Check out our travel nurses page, explore some of the most popular destinations, or learn more about our great pay and benefits, and we think you’ll agree: Travel assignments give you the chance to discover new experiences like never before.

Why should I travel with Nursefinders?

Because you’ll notice the difference in our service. Your dedicated Nursefinders recruiter (part career coach, part concierge) is your one resource ― helping with paperwork, licensing, housing, transportation, and benefits, and supporting you before, during, and between assignments. Plus, our relationships with respected healthcare organizations around the country mean we have access to more jobs and sought-after assignments than anyone – and you hear about them first. Our network of more than 100 offices offering local support and the opportunity to earn extra money by working per diem shifts is unmatched in the industry. We provide higher quality opportunities that fit your unique criteria in terms of salary, assignment length and location.

What can I expect in terms of salary?

In most cases, you can look forward to earning more money in less time. Our travelers typically earn what they would make in a permanent position after nine months of traveling assignments. But if flexibility means more to you, take time off when you want to and earn more of a conventional salary.

What about benefits? Will I be covered no matter where or how often I travel?

As long as you’re working with us and meet our standard eligibility requirements, you’ll have access to a host of benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401k and a long list of other competitive benefits. We also offer a program that allows you to keep your benefits between assignments without going on COBRA temporary health coverage.

How do I handle housing, transportation, and the incidentals I’ll need to get settled in a new place?

We’ll make it a seamless experience for you. Just call us to discuss timeframes, logistics, and any special needs and your dedicated recruiter will pull together the necessary paperwork and take care of the details.

Will you keep me busy?

As busy as you want to be! As long as you’re somewhat flexible about where and when you work, there will be plenty of job opportunities for you to choose from. Talk to your recruiter.

Can I travel with my family and/or pets?

Absolutely! A happy traveler is the best kind. We’ll research housing options to accommodate your needs and help you with other arrangements.

Who do I call if I have questions?

Your recruiter is your one-stop resource for all your questions and concerns. All the answers you need are just a phone call away.
